Oh, what a night!

Shortlisted amongst over 400 other worthy causes, and one of three finalists for the Make it Happen Community Hero Award, we had a fabulous night celebrating everyone’s achievements at the Stars in Surrey Awards.

After a delicious meal – ours was the first award up for grabs; there were three in our category … and, no, we didn’t win. But actually, it really didn’t matter. The honour of being part of that occasion was huge. We all felt valued and very lucky to have been singled out amongst so many fantastic people and causes across Surrey, all of whom are doing just the most amazing work.

Huge congratulations to the winner Alix Lewer from @include_ord choir whom we had the pleasure of seeing perform on the night and who got us all in the spirit.

Our team on the night …

Thank you to our superstar Kate Anderson for nominating us, our co-chairs Vanessa and Tone, and Alison, John and James, three of our most indefatigable hands-on volunteers. And thank you tot to our mascot Norman the Rat, whose head is still spinning from all the glitz and singing of his very first awards night!

And thank you to all of our other volunteers and supporters without whom we wouldn’t be where we are now.
