And the Golden Gnome goes to… 

Every year at GreenHub, we hold our very own awards ceremony – because the people who give their time, their hearts and their energy to support young people deserve to be celebrated properly. The Golden Gnome awards are our way of saying: we see you, we value you, and we could not do this without you.

The class of 2026!

This year’s recipients are more deserving than ever.

Our frontline garden team are the heartbeat of what we do – the ones who coax an anxious teenager out of the car, who ignite a love of plants where there wasn’t one before, who show up every session with warmth, empathy and quiet dedication. This year we are thrilled to honour Hermione Power, Ros Allen, Lianne Grist and Karen Mills-Hicks. Congratulations to all four – you are extraordinary.

Behind every great charity is a brilliant board, and this year we wanted to shine a light on two of ours. Simon Callaghan, our incredibly patient and hardworking treasurer, and Anthea Cooke, who leads our evaluation programme, champions safeguarding and contributes to so many aspects of Green Hub’s development. Thank you both – your dedication does not go unnoticed.

And finally, something a little different and very close to our hearts. For the first time ever, we wanted to recognise the achievement of one of our own teens. Amelia Griffiths joined us as a shy 14 year old two years ago – and has blossomed into a confident, caring and invaluable key volunteer, with a particular gift for animal care. Amelia, you are everything Green Hub is about.
