Healthy Mind + Healthy Body = Happy Teenager
Nutrition strategies for parents, with Fiona Hayers & Monique Parker
Monday, 24th January, 7.30pm to 9pm – Godalming
As parents, we all would like our teenagers to be happy and healthy, but with so many challenges physically, emotionally, and intellectually to deal with, it is hard to know where to start in order to help them.
We both understand that what they eat can play a major role in their mood, energy, well-being and ability to engage and learn. However, as parents of teenagers ourselves, we also understand that getting your teenager to adopt a more ‘healthful’ diet can be incredibly challenging and can lead to yet another area of conflict or even worse, lead to poor associations with food.
Helping your teenagers to get the right nutrients and develop a healthy relationship with food is a must for good physical and mental well-being. It is also important that they understand that looking after their bodies will set them up for life, and that not everyone is the same We all have our individual needs.
In this session, Fiona & Monique will cover:
- What a ‘healthful’ diet for a teenager should consist of, to balance their mood and energy
- How different foods impact their academic learning and ability to retain information
- As appearance is very important to many teenagers, we will also provide you with some key guidance to help keep a healthy weight and their skin clear
All our information is based upon current scientific studies and NOT current dietary trends or social media crazes which may be influencing their current diet.
How much does it cost to attend?
A ‘standard’ ticket is £25. Once you’ve reserved your seats, you’ll be directed to our Event Payment page where you can make your payment.
