In early October, Volunteers Camilla, Anthea and our co-founder Vanessa headed to Portsmouth for the Community Rail Conference to share our Witley story. Our message was simple: giving community groups access to railway spaces makes a REAL difference.

And we are delighted to announce that Green Hub was the overall winner of the Community Engagement category at the SWR Annual Awards, the most hotly contested category of the day!!

At Witley Station, we have seen that difference first-hand. What was once an overgrown corner is now a garden that does far more than look beautiful. It gives our teens a calm place to grow in confidence. It gives our volunteers a sense of purpose and connection. And it brings the wider community together, from passengers who pause on a bench before their journey to neighbours who stop to chat and get involved.

Everyone benefits when a station becomes a place where people belong. This award is a testament to everyone who has put in the hours and helped create this extraordinary community project, from our volunteers and teens to the local people, businesses and organisations who have supported us along the way. Thank you.
