Nominations for the Golden Gnome Awards – 2026

Each year since 2022, Green hub has paid tribute to volunteers who have gone ‘above and beyond’ in their role with Green Hub. And in the years since then, we have awarded our Golden Gnomes to nearly 20 of our fantastic volunteers.

Our super-cute Golden Gnomes are given to volunteers for lots of reasons; people who have worked tirelessly in the background; who show extraordinary compassion working with the teens; or who always just ‘turn up’ and get involved. The thing that truly connects them is that they represent the very best of Green Hub and its values.

As the Green Hub community grows ever larger, we want to make this a really democratic process and this year, for the first time, we are inviting you to make a nomination for a fellow volunteer (or volunteers) who you think really deserves this recognition.

How to nominate someone

To nominate a fellow volunteer, simply complete the form below. You’ll need to give your details and their name, plus the reasons why you think they absolutely deserve the award.

The final date for nominations is Friday, 30th April 2026.

Rules

  • The nominee must be a current volunteer
  • They need to have been volunteering with Green Hub for a minimum of 1 year (we will check that for you. if you’re not sure)
  • And they haven’t been awarded a Gnome in the last 5 years: you can find previous winners here>>

Judging process

We are appointing a small team of past winners, volunteers who have previously won the award and who we think will, between them, have a good knowledge of all the volunteers. They will make their recommendations to the Board, who will make the final decision at their May meeting.
