Running a garden session

If you are a Garden Assistant or Garden Leader, it’s essential that you watch this video.

  • Understanding the basics will make a big difference to your confidence at a teen garden session.
  • Garden Leaders take responsibility for a number of items covered in this video, but it is important that ALL garden volunteers are familiar with the process, just in case they need to step in – eg. if a Garden Leader is ill on the day.
  • At the end of the video – and with reference to the linked web pages – you should have a good understanding of what you need to do. You are then asked to take a short test of 10 questions.
  • The pass mark for the test is 80% – you must pass this test before you can attend a garden session. You have three attempts.

Taking the test …

The purpose of the training is to equip you to to do your role, not just pass a test. So, once you have watched the video and studied the attachments and, most importantly, you feel you’ve fully understood the subject, you should then take the test.
