During October, we were honoured to join the launch of the new Green Health Community of Practice, hosted at the National Trust’s Leith Hill. It’s a brand new network bringing together organisations across Surrey that use nature to support wellbeing.
The Community of Practice is part of the Surrey Green Health & Wellbeing Programme, a partnership between Community Foundation for Surrey and Surrey County Council. Alongside a dedicated Green Health grant fund, it will help organisations collaborate, share what is working, and shape the future of green health in Surrey.
Vanessa was invited to speak about why green health matters and what we hope to gain from being part of the community. Plus we were asked to deliver a “green experience” for the guests, and we wanted it to feel like a Green Hub session: calm, collaborative and creative. Nicola, our volunteer crafts coordinator, pulled together a pebble painting activity, and our other wonderful volunteers in attendance, Lyn, Ronata, Catherine and Francesca, led the sessions beautifully. The guests were SO creative!
With so many organisations in the room, being singled out to present and lead an activity was a real feather in our cap. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success.
We can’t wait to connect, learn and collaborate with our fellow green health champions across Surrey.
